GeForce / Nvidia puts out some real nice graphics cards. The one I purchased, was only about 140 dollars on Amazon and had @ 4.5 out of 5 stars from thousands of people. I am looking forward to building my new computer, and I will be looking for GeForce to be the video card.
I wanted to start the post off with some praise to the company so you know I am not totally jaded. Even though I appreciate their graphics cards, they have a long ways to go with their peripherals and software. I have used Shadowplay since I got the new graphics card. But have had issues for more than half the time I have used it.
To figure out exactly why I expose myself to this misery, it is quite simple really… file size.
I used Fraps for the longest time, it was the best 40 bucks I spent to be honest. A solid program that works and works very well. The problem? 40 minutes of raw video game footage would be @50 GB in space. Every Saturday would produce from 150-200GB of files. In a month I would fill 1 TB of my 2 TB hard drive. That is saying I am doing no other work that would take up space. I was continually having to purge and remove and make space. I bought a 1TB drive, and that filled up with stuff.
Insert Shadowplay. 40 minutes of gameplay was 10-12GB. Same quality as Fraps too. I was saving 100-120GB a weekend if not more. So how could I NOT use Shadowplay at this point.
